What this actually is
Blue Mountains Roofers connects homeowners along the ridge with roofing contractors who do the work. The job on your roof is carried out by established, licensed and insured roofing contractors working to NSW Fair Trading requirements. That arrangement is set out plainly on our disclaimer page and in the footer of every page on this site, because you should know how it works before you ring rather than after.
What that means for you in practice: one phone number, one free inspection, one written quote, and a written workmanship warranty when the job is finished.
The things we can honestly tell you
- The inspection and the written quote cost nothing and come with no obligation. If the answer is that your roof is fine for now, that is a legitimate answer and you will not get chased afterwards.
- Work is carried out by licensed and insured roofing contractors, to NSW Fair Trading requirements.
- Completed work carries a written workmanship warranty.
- We cover tile and metal, repairs through to full re-roofs, and we respond to storm damage.
- Quotes are itemised, so you can see what you are paying for and compare it with someone else.
The things we will not tell you
We are not going to invent a company history, a star rating or a number of happy customers in order to look established. There is no Google Business Profile with reviews behind this site yet, so there are no reviews printed on it. When there are real ones, they will appear.
We will also not quote a price over the phone before anyone has seen the roof. Roof area, pitch, material, access and how far the damage has already spread move the number too much for a phone estimate to be anything other than a guess or a hook.
How a job runs
- You ring (02) 4703 5000 or send the quote form with your suburb, roof type and what you have noticed.
- We come and get on the roof. Ridges, valleys, flashings, gutters, and the ceiling space from below where there is safe access.
- You get photographs and a written, itemised quote. Including, where relevant, whether a development application is likely in a heritage conservation area, or what a Bushfire Attack Level implies for the detailing.
- You decide. No follow-up pressure.
- The work gets done and scheduled around the weather honestly rather than optimistically.
- Site cleared, gutters flushed, warranty issued in writing.
Why knowing this specific area matters
A roofer who works the coastal plain is thinking about salt and hail. Up here the variables are different, and they change with every hundred metres of altitude:
- Freeze-thaw cycling that destroys bedding mortar and ridge pointing far faster than on the plain.
- Fog and persistent rain that keep roofs damp for days, so timber that gets wet stays wet.
- Moss and lichen on shaded southern pitches under heavy canopy.
- Eucalypt leaf and bark shed year-round into gutters and valleys.
- Bushfire-prone land across most of a local government area that is roughly 70% national park, which puts sarking, ember detailing and metal gutters into ordinary conversation.
- Heritage conservation areas through Katoomba, Leura and Mount Victoria that constrain material, profile and colour.
- Steep blocks, narrow driveways and short winter working windows.
None of that is marketing. It is the list of things that decide whether a roof repair up here lasts.
